FAQ

01. WHAT DOES A SHOOT LOOK LIKE? WHAT DO WE DO?!

( FAMILY, NEWBORN, MATERNITY ETC)

I hear you...!

1) I'll capture a handful of 'posed' photographs so that we've got those beautiful portraits and then we can relax into the time together.

2) Unposed  activities - here's where the real fun is and the 'documentary' aspect of my work.  The real life connections between you, the intimate moments, the tender touches, the belly laughs, the wild wrestles... all the bits that make you 'you'.

02. I'm still struggling - what kind of things can we do?

No worries! Firstly, think about things you generally love to do together - at home or out. These things can work with families and couples... even newborns baths & snuggles are precious moments worthy of capture.

But here are a few ideas if you're not sure:

  • take a walk in your favourite place
  • bake together
  • a bubble bath
  • a water fight..or bubble play!
  • riding bikes, chasing the dog... anything with movement
  • picking flowers

Think every day moments.

03. where does the shoot take place?

The choice is yours! In the comfort of your own home (I actually recommend this for newborn shoots) or another place you love. I find, if small children are involved, the more familiar they are, the more relaxed. The more relaxed, the nicer the time. The nicer the time...the nicer the photos!

04. WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

  • matching - No! But coordinated - definitely!
  • wear whatever you're most comfortable in! But do think about patterns and materials. Loud clashing patterns can be overwhelming and distract from the overall shoot - and synthetic materials don't tend to photograph so well.
  • I'll send you some colours to help you figure out your clothing choices if you need!
