THE BIRTH OF ELEANOR FAYE

My first birth!!! Eeeek!

I registered with SABPA a few months ago (a requirement in Cape Town hospitals in order to be trusted with access as there are many rules and regulations to be aware of).

Fellow birth photographer, Zoe project volunteer and Blouberg resident - Lindie - very kindly (and bravely!) welcomed me into documenting her birth of their much anticipated and longed for baby girl, Eleanor Faye.

Lindie was, without a shadow of a doubt, a hero. In a weirdly similar birth to my own first birth (even down to the same hospital!) she was a total champion through an incredibly long labour and she persevered right through to the beautiful moments of Eleanor's first cry and feed.

What an honour. What an incredible honour.

I'm so grateful to Lindie and Julian for their trusting me and for getting me started on my birth photography journey.
